Deep Field
Using a 4×5 inch plate camera and a very high quality lens a 7.65mm calibre bullet was fired directly into the center of the lens from close range (point blank) to create this image, which is partly (in fact mostly) made by particles of the lens imploding into the actual film negative when hit by the fragmented lens. The flash was triggered a few milliseconds before the bullet hit the lens and this can be seen roughly in the middle of the image. Just below the spherical brass bullet the hand of the operator can be observed (slightly out of focus) as it pulls the trigger of the gun. 4×5 inch colour negative printed on C type colour kodak paper.
