Simultaneous Symmetricality (infinity)
This photographic experiment was an attempt to create a perfect infinity image by using a single pentax 35mm camera fitted with two identical telephoto lenses. The camera back was specially adjusted to fit the duplicate lens on the rear side of the camera and the internal film tension plate removed so the camera could then view both forward and backward simultaneously. Normal 35mm black & white film comes with a chemical backing on the film to reduce light refraction within the film emulsion layer. This layer can be removed by pre- washing the film in water (in the dark) and then drying. This process was carried out so that now the camera can record a photographic image looking both forwards into the mirror and simultaneously backwards through the rear lens via the additional mirrors creating a uninhibited infinite circular viewpoint.
